It’s watchable and has good acting, but otherwise it’s nuttier than a vat of chunky Jiff. Find film screening times, runtimes and watch the latest Sleepless In Seattle trailer here. Annie says she doesn’t believe in signs (despite all the evidence to the contrary), which got me picturing Sam and Annie driving a car off a bridge that’s out because she “doesn’t believe in signs.” Book tickets to watch Sleepless In Seattle at your nearest Vue Cinema. They mentioned how everything was a “sign”, which made me actually LOL. The kids were unreal and the computers/technology gave me a smile, though. While driving to her fiance's house on Christmas Eve, she hears a radio broadcast that will change her life. And for Annie Reed (Meg Ryan), a down-to-earth newspaper reporter, it's just about to. There were a few good intentional chuckles in it, but probably my favorite is when the movie gets so close to becoming self-aware when Annie states that she’s been watching too many movies, which is what compelled her. Sleepless in Seattle Photos View all photos Movie Info After the death of his wife, Sam Baldwin (Tom Hanks) moves to Seattle with his son, Jonah (Ross Mallinger). If the roles were reversed and Sam was stalking Annie, this would be a straight-up horror flick. Meanwhile, Annie is sneaking around behind the back of her fiancé having wet fucky-fuck dreams of Sam, and her friend (Rosie O’Donnell) enables this batshit behavior by downplaying how crazy Annie is acting. He practically wants to force his dad to marry this stalker woman who neither of them have ever met. It’s comical how ridiculously delusional these characters are- especially Jonah, who is I think EIGHT years old and just lost his mother less than 2 years ago. Jonah hates her when he reads this letter from Annie, who fucking STALKS Sam by hiring a private investigator to follow Sam. He’s ambivalent and starts dating this woman Victoria who’s into him but laughs weird. Women swoon and send him “fuck me!” letters. Sam (Tom Hanks) lost his wife and moved with his son Jonah to Seattle, where the kid calls into some radio show and Sam spills his guts about how amazing his dead wife was. I like all the actors involved, and think they did a fine job portraying these characters, but holy shit what a hot mess! Meg Ryan’s character (Annie) is engaged to a handsome, fairly boring, “nice guy” (Bill Pullman as “Walter”). I just watched this movie for the first time, and I’m quite surprised it’s rated so highly. A recently engaged newswoman becomes obsessed with meeting a grieving widower she heard on a late-night radio.
